| A
Driving Under the Influence arrest can be a frightening,
confusing and annoying situation. At the traffic stop, the
officer probably asked a lot of questions while having you
perform a series of roadside field sobriety tests that
required physical and mental dexterity at the same time. In
addition, you were arrested, handcuffed, probably submitted to a
breath, blood or urine test, and became part of the criminal
justice system for, most likely, the only time in your life. You
need a DUI defense lawyer who knows the laws, the prosecutors,
and is familiar with the judges as well as the court system to
handle your case.
When you are arrested for DUI in Florida, you
have two battles to fight- one with the Department of Highway
Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) concerning your driving
privileges and the other with the court concerning the criminal
charges against you.
YOU MUST REQUEST A FORMAL REVIEW HEARING WITHIN 10 DAYS OF
YOUR DUI ARREST OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR DRIVER’S LICENSE
As an experienced lawyer, I can assist you
through the Formal Review Hearing process. The DHSMV can take
away your license for six months
to a year for a first DUI offense, depending upon whether
you submitted to a breath test or not.
